It's played over the loudspeakers, the players can hear it. NHL thought hearing a crowd would pump them up.

Barkov and laine have been training together the whole offseason. In the past Barkov has used the "mistake" in laines last one as a trick to baffle the goaltender and the score after that so it is possible laine did that on purpose.
