I read the suggestion somewhere that the FCC needs labels or disclaimers legislation for Opinion networks such as Fox, AON and others. There should be labels like the movie and music industry has... there should be a large scrolling disclaimer every 30 minutes or so that repeats that the show isn't "news" but only represents the opinion of the network and is not pretending to present the truth. I think that this would go a long way towards breaking this cycle for a few of our citizens... for to "re-educate" these folks will be nearly impossible, or will be generational rehabilitation. It is becoming absolutely absurd and disgusting and we cannot continue in the current direction to have a healthy nation. We need to pressure the FCC to place labels on these networks.

I just find is so strange that the will of the people is spoken of so sharply, yet some refuse to acknowledge that the will of the people was Biden to be president. We spoke and chose Biden. I voted for Biden because I am tired for the suffering I see in our country. I always remind people that we live in a Democratic Republic, they seem to forget. I really dislike how voting is just a figurehead because the electoral college is the group that REALLY decides who get's what points. Sure they MAY listen to what their constituents say, but in truth they don't HAVE to. Most states have no laws that require the electors to vote with the will of the popular vote, but if they are affiliated with the party in question it may be required. I honestly wish that there was no such thing as a party, because I hate seeing people blindly vote for party over policy. As if they don't even realize who the person they are voting for is all about. And Democrats are just as guilty as Republicans in this sense. I went with my girlfriend when she voted. When she came out I asked her how it went and she said "Yeah I voted for Biden" and then I asked her who else she voted for and she merely said "I just voted for all the democrats." She admitted that she had no idea who the other people were she was voting for, she just blindly followed the party she was in. I myself am a registered Democrat, but only because the state I'm in won't let me vote in the primaries unless I'm affiliated with a partly. I consider myself more of an independent because when I vote I don't just vote for party, I learn the facts about the candidates. I ask my parents who have known what its like to have these people in charge longer than I have what their thoughts are. I carefully research who they are and find out if I like their beliefs or not. Believe it or not I, a very liberal member of the LGBTQ+ voted for BOTH parties in the elections. Sure I voted for Biden obviously, but I also voted for one Republican person on my ballet because they are a decent person who gets the job they have done and does it right. I didn't vote for him for party, I voted for him for policy and for decency. And that is what every person who votes NEEDS to do. It's not a should, as a teacher I don't ever use that word because it implies that you don't necessarily have to. But in this case YOU DO. Parties just divide us even farther than we already are. I've always found that if people have the opportunity to choose a side they don't really care about the other side, they only care about themselves and what they want. It incites arguments and fuels the fire for violence. And that is exactly what we witnessed when those people, blinded by their party and fueled by the ramblings of a desperate man, stormed a sacred ground on the 6th of January 2021.
