@John Lynes Damnation is a masterpiece. As most of their records are. Have you tried putting Damnation on if you have a long drive ahead of you? Damnation is so damn perfect for driving through hilly landscapes.

The sound is incredible! The musicianship is unreal. The songwriting is fantastic. And, as a drummer, the fact that a leather jacket can be worn while playing any of this... even for one song... is remarkable.

I don't understand the appeal of this band. The "death metal" side is weak and uninspired, the pseudo-indie clean parts are not moving or compelling, and together is weird and just doesn't work for me.

Once there was a great band called, Nightwish. After Tarja got booted, I couldn't listen to them anymore. Now I don't care cuz these guys are phenomenal...Really great musicians...good vocals. Not sure how I got here but glad I did.

what an extraordinary day i am having today, and it's all down to u tube, for their vast musical diversification, come on, where else can you get whatever music you like! started out with Benediction and Scriptures album , a wake up call to all fans that they are still a major death metal force, and now OPETH andGARDEN OF THE TITANS which indeed they are; todays musical titans ,Their live performances are an exquisite joy to behold and i think their legacy will remain unmatched by future generations.

There are bands out there that if I heard them for the 1st time it sounds like I heard them several hundreds of times because many bands sound too similar to each other. But Opeth, whether it's their music from 3 decades ago, 2 decades ago, 1 decade ago or more recent all of their music is unique when compared to a large majority of bands and is even unique within themselves. Hearing Opeth's music hundreds of times is aways like hearing it for the 1st time because they are so unique.

Not gonna lie. I skipped the songs to listen to the legendary banter. When I saw them at Roskilde like 15 years ago (fffuuuuuuuuuuucccccckkkk) Åkerfeldt kept saying "I am a cock"

Sounded awesome....never listened to these guys before.....lost me when the singer started growling like a donkey with a cold.....

Your loss... Maybe give them another chance. Their work is basically split into the Death Metal-influenced albums pre-Heritage, and the Prog rock ones that came after. Try the latter if the growling isn't your thing.

so growl wise maybe not as golden as in his best years (2003-2008) but still good after such weak performances like 2014. im happy he can still do it!

The Wilde Flowers sounds so good here. Much better than on the album. The sound techs for this show and Shepherd’s Bush were on point.

Axe I love you from the bottom of my heart but 49:31 onwards is some of the sloppiest 6/8 playing I've ever witnessed.

Would be the Lamentations DVD right here too, I think that is hard to find the entire concert nowadays.
